Breast Lift

A Breast Lift is used to reverse the sagging process that takes place in a woman's breasts due to things like the force of gravity, pregnancy, and nursing. A breast lift is a surgical procedure in which the sagging breasts are raised and reshaped. Also, if a woman's breasts are small, or have shrunk over time due to pregnancy a breast lift can be combined with breast implants to increase both the size and firmness of the breasts.

What are the advantages of having a Breast Lift?
  • An elevated more youthful breast contour
  • Nipple-areolar complexes of the desired size and the correct height
Who is a good candidate for a Breast Lift?
  • If you have sagging breasts due to past pregnancies, genetics, or aging
  • If the sagging is too great to be treated with an implant alone
  • If your nipple-areolar complexes (pigmented areas around nipples) are enlarged
What does a Breast Lift procedure involve?

Incisions are usually around the nipple-areolar complex and in the crease under the breast. The nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, the excess breast skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped in a pleasing contour and in a more normal position.

How long does a Breast Lift take?

It may take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending upon if additional procedures are combined.

How long does it take to recover from a Breast Lift?

A support bra is worn for 2-3 weeks and the sutures are completely removed within this time as well.

When can I expect to see results from my Breast Lift?

Immediately.

When can I go back to work/resume my normal activities after having a Breast Lift?

Light activities may be started in 7-10 working days.

How long will the results of a Breast Lift last?

You should keep in mind that a breast lift won't keep you firm forever- the effects of gravity, pregnancy, aging and weight fluctuations will eventually take their toll again. Women who have implants along with their breast lift may find the results last longer.

What are my alternatives to having a Breast Lift?

What are the risks involved with having a Breast Lift?

The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.
