Breast Revision Surgery
During a consultation with Dr. Sherman, the patient’s breasts are examined and an appropriate treatment plan is created to meet her needs. The most common reasons to undergo a breast revision are due to having a ruptured implant, capsular contracture, asymmetry, visible rippling, and/or an incorrect implant size. Most patients require removal of the original implants and placement of new ones in one visit; however, depending on the severity of the complications, the breast tissue may need time to heal before reinserting implants. Some women may also request to replace saline breast implants with silicone gel implants.
Along with primary and revision breast augmentation surgery (“augmentation mammaplasty”), Dr. Sherman also performs breast reduction surgery (“reduction mammaplasty”) and breast lift surgery (“mastopexy”).
